Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival + apps + sauna
Arrive* mid-afternoon at the landing at Maskinonge Lake where you are picked up
by boat at 3pm for a cruise to the lodge. Relax at the lodge with apps, sauna and jump in
the lake before sitting down at the cozy communal table for a hearty, homestyle meal
in the log-lined dining room.
*The pick-up at Maskinonge landing is scheduled for 3pm. It is approximately a 5-hour drive from Toronto and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Sudbury, Ontario. Detailed directions to the landing pick-up are provided with your booking confirmation.
Day 2 Bush plane to McConnell Bay
Fill up on coffee and pancakes before hopping on a classic Canadian-made Beaver bush plane to McConnell Bay. You’ll set up camp along the Bay’s white sand beach. A short paddle away away is "Elephant Mountain," a stunning granite cliff, overlooking the Chiniguchi Waterway.
Day 3 Quartz Cliffs and Old Growth Red Pines
Today we paddle and portage to Wolf Lake, a definite crowd favourite with its turquoise blue water and white granite and quartz cliffs. A gem of the Temagami, it's home to the largest contiguous stand of old-growth red pine forest in the world.
Day 4 Paradise Lagoon and Matagamasi
We'll stop at Paradise Lagoon, a hidden gem and popular swimming hole featuring a 30 ft waterfall and deep crystalline water, before paddling through Matagamasi Lake, with its ancient Indigenous pictographs painted onto the rock face just above the water line.
Day 5 Victory Paddle + Bonfire
We make our way through the Rock Garden, an underground waterfall, and a series of canals
and small portages, to Maskinonge Lake, arriving victorious back at the lodge.
We’ll celebrate with a sauna, a generous meal, and a big bonfire under the stars.
Day 6 Lodge Relax + Depart
Take the day to relax at the lodge, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, go for a nature walk, or
sauna, before departing.

Getting There
The meeting point for our Temagami trip is approximately 430 km due north of Toronto (5-hour drive) and 87 km from Sudbury (1.20 hours by car). The closest town is Hagar, Ontario. For those flying into Sudbury, a vehicle pick-up can be arranged for an additional fee. Please email info@karibuadventures for further information.Guests are then picked up by boat at the southern tip of Maskinonge Lake, at a place called Jonas Landing. Cars can be parked here. Detailed driving instructions are provided upon booking.
